so, one of the most active lately and definitely my favorite d.i.y. space at my closest surroundings will become an adult in May next year.. Podrum, small but legendary squatted venue situated in ex-harbor of so called "european capital of culture" the city of Rijeka is turning 18.. over all those years they hosted probably every touring d.i.y. punk band, artist or movement which ever crossed their paths with this our wasteland called Croatia.. and most important, through all these years they stayed true underground, dedicated to d.i.y. principles and ethics and act completely autonomous which is in today's world rarity and thing for respect and admiration..
already traditionally they are preparing anniversary event in May, this time there will be even a 3-day party with bunch of workshops, gigs, discussions, screen-printing, tattoos and more..

Our squatted subterranean jungle called Podrum turns 18 next May. Time flies, but aeroplanes crash. Anyway, big festivities are needed to celebrate the adulthood of our collective and space in a proper way.
Apart from international killer live music acts and jawdroping food we'll organise a soli tattoo session, live screen printing, sick live visaul acts, different games and more.

but that's not all.. like some sort of destiny, my favorite venue and my favorite crust punk artist collide, so a few weeks ago Steve of War made a killer artwork for them which is incredible and with hundreds of small details looks impressive.. part of it has already been used for this poster above and we will see if they will use it for something more in the future.. it definitely has potential for decorating all kind of merch or anything else..
anyhow, if you will be close to Rijeka in the end of April, you know what to do, reserve the dates, be there and support this hard working crew of radical basement punx, they had some interesting plans for the future so they would certainly be grateful for the support.. and if nothing else, on all of their events great fun is guaranteed, that's for sure..
